Charlene Marks-Walker

Having started ballet at the slightly later age of 7, Charlene trained at Maria Fischer’s Windermere School of Dance. This was quickly followed by the addition of jazz. Charlene followed the RAD syllabus.
At the age of 10, after a successful audition, Charlene attended the Royal Ballet School’s Junior Associates program in Manchester, where she trained once a month for a year.
Following that, at the age of 11, she then went on to secure a place at the world-renowned Elmhurst Ballet School in Surrey, where she boarded for three years.
During her time at Elmhurst, Charlene had the honour of performing with the English National Ballet on their UK tours.
Whilst at Elmhurst she continued to study ballet under RAD up to Elementary level, her training was complemented with other disciplines such as; ISTD Modern and Tap, Contemporary and Spanish Flamenco.
Due to injury, Charlene returned home at the age of 14.
After school, she attended Kendal College until she was 18 and achieve a BTech Diploma in Performing Arts.

Charlene did not feel that leaving home again to attend University was the right decision for her. She decided to take a break from dancing altogether.
After her first child at the age of 24, Charlene qualified in AAT accounting Level 2 at Furness College and worked as part of an accounts team.

Realising her passion for dance had not left her in 2014 she was given the opportunity to set up a small community dance class. This led to the meeting of Rosie and the collaboration of their two independent schools, to form the FSA we have today.
